Carol Service - added December 2011
Our Carol Service was held on Sunday 18th December. Part of the service involved creating our very own nativity scene. This picture and the one on the "homepage" shows all the Bible characters represented, well except one! There was "no room" for baby Jesus so we moved him out of the picture to the side. So many people have lost the whole focal point of CHRISTmas ........ Jesus! Without Jesus there is no CHRISTmas! Take time to remember the person that gave us Christmas, Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world.
Church Christmas Meal - added December 2011
50 of us enjoyed a fantastic Christmas meal cooked for us by Diane, Dave, Gloria and Derek. Thanks for all your hard work, and it was better than anything we've paid for in a retaurant for the last few years! Gareme's song was a highlight plus some Chrsitmas cracker jokes from the children
The End of an Era - added December 2011
It is with great sadness we announce that Arthur Johnson has passed away. Arthur (or George as some will know him) was one of the founding members of Kirkby Baptist Church. He worked tirelessly for his Lord without the expectation of anything in return. He was an example to all that knew him. Sorely missed but rejoicing that he is face to face with Christ his Saviour.
Funeral arrangements are Thursday 15th December at 2.30pm at Kirkby Baptist Church followed by internment at St Helens Crematorium at 3.30pm.
Level 2 Food Safety Award - added November 2011
Ten of us completed this course in November so that we make sure that all catering is done to the highest food safety standards. Some of the information about bacteria spreading was a bit scary though!

'Back to Church Sunday' - Sunday 25th September 2011 added Sept 2011 Along with hundreds of churches across the UK we will be involved with 'Come Back to Church' Sunday on the 25th September 2011 at 11am. In Kirkby there are lots of people who used to go to church regularly but have stopped going for one reason or another. This a great way for people who would like to come back to have the opportunity to do so.

The men had a great night at the 'Christians in Sport' curry night at Christchurch Aughton. It was only £4 a head and proved to be a really enjoyable evening. The two compéres for the event were excellent. Thanks to Tom Ellis for organsing it.
Fun Day - Sunday 28th August added July 2011
On Sunday 28th August we're having a Fun Day from Midday - 4pm. There will be the usual inflatables (couple of bouncy castles and a slide), plus 'Beat the Goalie', Bric-a-Brac, refreshments and more. Come along and join in the fun.
"Many Peoples will come....." added July 2011
"This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come ..." (the Bible). God said this to us a few years ago. Since then people have come from 6 nations to be part of the church and to worship with us; Portugal, Angola, Malawi, Hungary, France and Lebanon. This week we heard from someone from Finland who now lives in Kirkby and wants to worship with us. It is such a blessing as we see God doing what He has said He will do. The Bible has many other promises from God which He will never go back on. Here's one promise, "I'll never let you down, never walk off and leave you". To hear more of God's promises, join us on Sunday's at 11am.
5 year old says 'Jesus Healed My Eyes'! added June 2011
Yes, that's what happened yesterday in church. We heard from a 5 year old who has been telling people 'Jesus healed my eyes'! After numerous eye tests under a specialist over the last couple of years there was no progress. So at the last communion service he came forward for prayer. At the next visit to the hospital he passed all the tests and immediately told people who had healed his eyes, Jesus!
